he Wallgau Brass Band was inaugurated in June 1929, by two brothers Alfred and Josef Neuner. In the late 40's there was an interval until 11 enthusiastic, young Wallgauers started the Wallgau Brass Band of today. Their first concert took place in June 1949, conducted by Martin Reindl and they continued playing in concerts, Church festivals and local festivities. Since then the band has become one of the mainstays of cultural life in the village.

he 11-man group has developed into a brass and wind orchestra of note, with 40 members under their dedicated conductor Max Bach. Under his auspices they have competed in German and International Competitions. In Prag and Brünn, Czechoslovakia, they achieved 2nd place in the highest class, marking the outstanding development of the Band.
he Band has appeared on local radio, and four times on the popular folk music TV programme "Musikantenstadl", which is broadcast over the whole of Europe. The highlight up to press, was a journey to Cape Town, S. Africa, to represent Bavaria on "Musikantenstadl".
heir repertoire ranges from traditional Bavarian and Bohemian pieces and music from all ages, through to modern day Brass music.
The musicians always appear in their traditional costume, which they value very highly.

everal members of the Wallgau Brass Band founded the Wallgau Dance Band in 1992. They play traditional Bavarian and Tyrolean melodies by the composers Gottlieb Weissbacher (Original Fidelen Inntalern), Peter Moser (Tiroler Kirchtag Musig) and Robert Schwärzer (Südtiroler 6er Musig) and also compositions from Max Bach, the condutor of the Wallgau Brass Band. They have produced one CD/audio cassette " Bei uns im Isartal", for friends of genuine, instrumental folk music.
